While we haven't been in a couple of years only due to geographic inconvenience, GSI continues to occupy our memories as having wonderful food and service. We hope to be back soon!
My wife and I love gale street inn, we sit at the bar and let Pedro the bar tender serve us different drinks and then we have a appetizer and entrée. Everyone including the owner George greets us with such kindness that we feel like family members. The ribs are tender and the sauce is homemade, the salmon, the jambalaya, the crab cakes and the most amazing fried shrimp. We have our date night here often and now we have our birthday gathering here for now on!! Prices are very reasonable. Free parking free live entertainment and old school restaurant vibe. GALE STREET INN has everything that the downtown restaurants have with half the price. This is a neighborhood restaurant second to none!!!
The service was incredible, and the food was even better. The stuffed mushrooms, French onion soup, and ribs were cooked to perfection. Can't wait to bring vistors!
Mr George Karzas offered a very clean, kind and fabulous experience. The meal was exceptional and those who we met and were served by are very VERY kind and professional. Everyone has an opinion based on the experience, it is my belief that the Gale Street Inn is a great establishment and service in the community. The ribs are AMAZING and Pedro you are the OG!
It has been many many moons since I have dined at Gale Street Inn. On a recent Friday evening, I returned there for a pleasant dinner along with my love and another couple. Originally, we booked a reservation for six, but one of our couples scratched due to last-minute illness. I remember the restaurant used to be very crowded on a weekend, and you would wait around the bar for an available table if they were all taken. Currently as a Covid measure, the tables are spread far apart, so the four of us appreciated our situation without any other customers pressed up against us. Service was terrific throughout our meal, as we were served water and bread with honey butter. We each ordered an adult beverage. I ordered braised short ribs with bacon cheddar mashed potatoes, and I did not leave a morsel on the plate. Dinners come with choice of soup or salad, and choice of a side. The chicken tomatillo soup is an unusual choice for a "standard" soup, but it is tasty topped with tortilla strips. My love ordered a half slab of baby back ribs with potatoes au gratin, and the bites I sampled from her plate are as good as I remembered tasting in years past. Our friends ordered the full slab of ribs and a fish dish, and both walked away with leftovers. Gale Street Inn is not a cheap date, but we certainly did enjoy our dining experience.
